priceyEnglish heavyweight champion David Price hopes to seal a showdown with British rival Tyson Fury by the end of the week but could make his American debut if an agreement cannot be reached.

Unbeaten Price is the mandatory challenger to the British heavyweight title currently held by Fury and though Price and promoter Frank Maloney want to make the fight, it remains to be seen if Fury is as keen.

Maloney confirmed that an offer has been made to Fury and that he and Price hope to seal a fight by the end of the week: "We have made a formal offer to Fury and they have until Thursday to agree terms," he said to Sky Sports.

"We want that fight as quick as possible – he's got to defend it by the end of May but we're looking at April.

"I want to keep him fighting, keep him working."

The promoter also added that he was 'in talks' with contacts in America to set up a possible US debut for Price should Fury opt to vacate his British title and avoid the Olympic bronze medallist.
