david-privce-1English heavyweight champion David Price has revealed he believes Dereck Chisora will “be up against it” in his world heavyweight title fight versus Vitali Klitschko on February 18.

6ft 8ins Price had been sparring with Chisora to prepare for his victorious British title eliminator against John McDermott and said that while he believes the Finchley-based Chisora to be in better condition than he was before losing his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles to Tyson Fury, he could still struggle against Klitschko.

“I’ve done plenty of sparring [with Chisora] in the build-up to the [McDermott] fight,” said Price.

“Last time I sparred with him was before he fought Fury, when he seemed to be a lot heavier, but he’s a bit more trim now so he’s got more speed.

“Of course he has a chance [against Klitschko]. It’s heavyweight boxing so…

“But he is going to be up against it.”

Price’s height and reach mean he is seen as a suitable sparring partner to prepare for the Klitschko brothers. Albert Sosnowski, David Haye, Odlanier Solis and Jean Marc Mormeck – as well as Chisora – have all used Price in the past though all eventually lost their title bids.
