Rendall Munroe will come face to face with Toshiaki Nishioka tonight at the WBC Night of Champions.
The boxing binman will meet the Japanese superstar who is in Cardiff for the special event which is considered to be the BAFTA'S of the sport.
Munroe will be accompanied by promoter Frank Maloney who will be picking up his award for European Promoter of the Year after he was unable to attend the EBU conference earlier this year..
Rendall has gained his shot at the WBC super bantamweight crown after a brilliant 12 months was capped with victory in a final eliminator against Mexican Victor Terrazas on April 23rd.
The date for the bout was confirmed as October 24th last week and will be held in the heart of downtown Tokyo in the Sumo Arena.
The event is expected to be attended by the largest gathering of world champions in its history with 98 scheduled to appear. Roberto Duran, Ken Buchanan, Vitali Klitschko and Joe Calzaghe are just some of the names expected to make an appearance.
